The Integrated Community and Neighbourhood Planning project aims to provide guidance in integrating neighbourhood planning (defined in the Localism Act 2011) with wider community planning. It is based on experience of neighbourhood planning in Birmingham and the findings of the Chamberlain Forum research finding that highlighted the integration of community-led spatial planning with a more holistic approach (planning related to public services, community relations etc) as a success factor in urban neighbourhood planning.
The project provides guidance to local authorities, neighbourhood forums and others with an interest in neighbourhood planning, in particular in urban areas with diverse communities. It is in two parts:
